Power and palace intrigues, love and passion, selfishness and self-sacrifice. A fantasy account of one of the greatest women who ever lived. Elizabeth I remains in history as the first great queen of England, whose reign is still considered the "Golden Age" of England. She leads the country to an unprecedented rise, but never finds love, never marries, and never shares her throne.
The performance "Elizabeth or the Virgin Queen" has no claim to historical accuracy. It does not seek to take the viewer to Renaissance England, nor immerse him in the love story of Elizabeth I and her only lover, Robert Dudley.
This is a fictional story about the weakness of the powerful, the quest for power, the shedding of masks and the sacrifices we make when faced with the colossal clash between love and the crown.
